I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over 15 years of experience working with adults and families. I specialize in providing evidence-based and culturally responsive mental mental health care to individuals and organizations. I am also an Associate Professor of Medical Social Sciences at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine where I teach medical researchers how to conduct research with rather than on people and communities. I have trained and mentored numerous master’s and PhD students, as well as early-career clinicians and researchers.
I maintain an active research portfolio focused on the impact of higher education systems on the mental well-being of minoritized students. I also collaborate on applied research focused on the impact of the U.S. immigration system on the mental health of immigrants and their families. I have authored over 40 publications and given multiple invited talks on topics related to equity in mental health care.
I am a child of the West Coast, but have called the midwest home for many years. I enjoy learning about the world through books and travel, spending time in nature, and playing card games with my family.
